New imprint Reduction kicks off proceedings with a seriously darkside plate from
Bristol producers Wedge and Gatekeeper. First up is HENCH stalwart Wedge,
finally seeing his debut release on wax to follow up his regular DJ appearances
in the clubs and on the radio. His track Overfiend opens with metallic screeches
and rushes of cold air, then the thrumming bass and grumbling mids spiral around
the clacking riddim. On the flip, Gatekeeper takes the original out into space
for a chilling, dubbed out rework - stripping it back to bare basics, then
adding paranoid sounds to incredible effect. Good stuff - check!
