Tap's singles are all pretty darn rare, and like most of the world, we first discovered Jackie's work on the Don't Stop compilation from Numero -- which offered up rarities from the label's archives. This set pushes further than that one, and offers up the first full album of Stoudemire's music -- a great batch of dancefloor numbers served up in a soulful space between early 80s club and some of the hipper indie work of the time -- never too polished, and often with some great touches of funk or spacier sounds in the mix. Jackie's vocals are a bit laidback at times, but in a way that's a nice change from the obvious club diva mode -- more relaxed, as you might find in some rare soul sides from the 70s -- although with more of a modern soul approach overall. if u like it buy it and show artists some love! enjoy...
