Glow 3:37 http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=267453 Jamie Vex'd launches his new Kuedo project on Planet Mu with the blazing synthtrails of the 'Starfox EP'. As we're sure you're aware, Jamie was instrumental in the early development of dubstep with his seminal Subtext EPs and the 'Degenerate' album for Planet Mu, so it's intriguing to witness him digitally morph into the Kuedo sound persona. As his more recent productions have proved, he's moved towards a lurching hiphop based style, taking cues from the likes of Flying Lotus, Mike Slott, Ikonika and Rustie to immerse himself in a complex cacophony of computer game melodies and digitized electro-acoustics. The hugely impressive 'Starfox' starts the game with a viscerally sensual shock of lush melodies and highly organised rhythms, before installing the crystallized ambience of the all-too-brief 'Shutter Light'. Following this, 'Joy Construction' layers kaleidoscopic DMT harmonics with stumbling drums and 'Glow' sounds like Burial pushing off with Loops Haunt. Dazzling freshness, Highly recommended!
