| Ever since their debut performance in April of 2009, Northlane have |
| been relentless in pursuing their aspirations as musicians whilst |
| becoming one of the premier upcoming acts which Sydney has to offer. |
| Whilst maintaining all the angst and aggression of conventional |
| hardcore, Northlane have crafted a fresh and innovative approach to |
| modern metalcore, resulting in a distinctive and sophisticated sound |
| which surpasses conventional generic boundaries and draws from much |
| more outlying styles of musicianship than just that of their peers. |

| Playing to primarily local crowds on the backs of their demo tracks, |
| Northlane established themselves locally throughout 2009, and |
| received nothing but acclaim from audiences, fellow musicians and |
| reviewers. The end of 2009 saw Northlane record their debut release |
| ôHollow Existenceö which was released in January 2010 on the back of |
| their first interstate tour. The EP has already made waves in the |
| Australian scene and is continuing to do so, whilst also receiving |
| international recognition. The well-read webzine the-pit.de awarded |
| Hollow Existence a mark of 9/10, pitting it against releases from |
| major international acts such as Architects and For the Fallen |
| Dreams. |
