Every once in a while, there comes a band whose musical style is hard to
explain. The Venetia Fair are one of those bands. Hailing from Boston,
The Venetia Fair write an interesting style of music that sets them
apart from many bands in the scene. Their debut CD The Circus shows off
the band's extraordinary talent.

The Circus is a CD that consists of two segments: "Overture" and "The
Circus". "Overture" is a collection of songs about love and loss. The
CD's opener "A Man Like Me" will grab the listener's attention with its
abrupt guitar and piano assault. "What Do We Have Here?" is a catchy
number that will have the listener inadvertently snapping their fingers
along with the beat. "Because You're Lonely" is a piano-driven song that
showcases pianist Joseph Occhiuti's talent.

The second half of the CD ("The Circus") is a group of songs revolving
around a circus-- Gullinkambi the ringleader and three clowns
(Nonus,Decimus and Mortus). "The Ringleader" is a easily a fan favorite
as Benny Santoro's singing/shrieking vocals and piano bashing sticks
with the listener for a long time. "The Clowns and the Escape" has a
dark mood, but the song shifts gears when Santoro screams "Hey!Where do
you think you're going to go?". Suddenly guitarist Charles King and
Occhuiuti are engaged in a musical race that ends in both collapsing in
front of the finish line.
