Carillon Records is a new label founded by few Italian artists, based between
Naples and Berlin. The carillon evolved as a folk instrument, played
automatically as a clock chime, and by a performer for market days and holidays.
Surviving music from the first "golden age" is mostly arrangements of folk
tunes, dance pieces, and popular music of the period, although there are some
original compositions for carillon. The label try to release tracks that looks
like the carillon music, with simple sounds and phat groove. First EP of
Giuseppe Cennamo co-owner of Carillon records, a brand new project comin' out
from the deepest neapolitan underground. Three tracks apparently in the same
style, but "Break My Carillon" breaks definitely the lines! This track is pretty
straight full of bass and a great kick. A big break in the middle with some
little vocals make the track a dancefloor killer. Also "Get On The Carillon" is
a cool track, made with a female voice on the kick, and nice percussion. The
last track "Miusik" is a kind of easy loop but full of elegant acoustics snare
and toms. Supported By Marco Carola, Madskillz, Luciano, Dj Wild, Varoslav, Paco
Osuna, Brothers Vibe, Loko, Dave Ellesmere, Lemos, Mendo, Jacuzzi Boys, Uglh,
Michel De Hey... Mixmag Feb 2010 House Record Of The Month!
