Setting up the board
--------------------

First you need to install the Invision Power Board.
Get your hands on a copy. Ask your Warez-dealer or visit:

    http://scriptmafia.org/forum/4590-invision-power-board-302themesaddons.html

Now extract the archive and move the directorie to your www-folder eg.
"/opt/lampp/htdocs/www".

Navigate your browser to:

    http://localhost/$here_comes_your_path/forum/admin/install

Maybe you have to customize this path on your own needs.
Follow the instructions.

Getting the backup
-----------------

Get a copy of the Backup. If you have no resources for that, check this out:

    http://www.dug-portal.com/2009/11/1337crew-backup-ipboard-19112009.html

Extract it.

Note:
    If you are *nix user, do not use the unrar programm. It wont recover
    the directories properly.
    I got it with winrar under wine.

Importing the backup
-------------------

Now we have to import the backup.
We can not use phpmyadmin for that.

We need Bigdump.

    http://www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php

Load it and save it in your www-folder.
Navigate your browser to the file, and choose the backup.sql file to import.
If you moved it to the same directory, the backup.sql file should be in the list.
Otherwise move it, or upload it.

Bigdump should do the work for you.

If you get errors, try to expand the configuration part in the bigdump.php as follows:

    $comment[]='SET character_set_client = @saved_cs_client;';

# If you are getting errors while inserting the "admin_logs":
    $comment[]='INSERT INTO `admin_logs`';

Note:
    If you get the following error:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'Could not initiate the registry, the settings >>
cache is empty or missing' in /opt/lampp/htdocs/www/ipb/admin/sources/base/ipsRegistry.php:1629 Stack >>
trace: #0 /opt/lampp/htdocs/www/ipb/admin/sources/base/ipsRegistry.php(496): ipsRegistry->setUpSettings() >>
#1 /opt/lampp/htdocs/www/ipb/admin/sources/base/ipsController.php(73): ipsRegistry::init() #2 >>
/opt/lampp/htdocs/www/ipb/admin/sources/base/ipsController.php(60): ipsController->init() #3 >>
/opt/lampp/htdocs/www/ipb/index.php(22): ipsController::run() #4 {main} thrown in /opt/lampp/htdocs/ >>
ww/ipb/admin/sources/base/ipsRegistry.php on line 1629

Edit the file ipsRegistry.php on line 162 and Comment the line 1629:

    # throw new Exception( "Could not initiate the registry, the settings cache is empty or missing" );

If everything went fine, and Bigdump processed 6711009 lines, you can navigate to phpmyadmin and edit >>
the hash of:
    members > $youraccount (should be the last)

You have to edit themember_group_id and set it to 4 (admin)

If you get errors like:

    Warning: Division by zero in /opt/lampp/htdocs/www/ipb/admin/sources/classes/output/publicOutput.php >>
on line 2356

Go to: Admin CP > Cache Management > Recache all
Now everything should work fine!

Have Phun!

best regards, anonymous.
