The band was initially comprised of four members: Diogo Luiz (drums), Joπo Hip≤lito (bass guitar, guitar and drums), Joπo Teot≤nio (guitar and keys) and Rodrigo Filipe (cello). Following a whole year committed to exploring new technical and creative abilities, the band recorded their first demo. Their music was at the time strongly influenced by the oscillating and introspective dynamics found in the European Post-Rock. In June 2003, ╓LGA entered the Rockastrus band contest, where they were shortlisted for the final stage having also been considered the most original band to participate. This achievement called the attention of music producer Paulo Miranda, who later recorded their Premier album, ╓. The album was recorded in Viana do Castelo at Ampstudio and was later released in February 2004 under the BorLand label. After the albumÆs release ╓LGA went on performing live and promoting their work. After Rodrigo FilipeÆs departure in 2004 ╓LGA became a power trio, following new paths of experimentation that led to a more intense and rhythmic sound, strongly rooted in Rock. In August 2004, ╓LGA recorded their first Long Play album at Sinal 26 Studio, in Bairro Alto - Lisbon. The record was released under the BorLand label in the beginning of 2005. The single 'Money' was also released. In 2007 ╓LGA started work on a new album û LA R╔SISTANCE û which would prove very significant for the band. Following the recording sessions at Toolateman studios in Cascais, the band decided to take over the controls and release the album independently. The mixing was done by Eduardo Ricciardi at the mythic Golden Pony studio (Lisbon) and, later, masterized by Tom Durack at New York (who also worked with Lou Reed, Ettiene Daho, B-52Æs, Diana Ross, etc.) ╓LGAÆs master piece LA R╔SISTANCE will be released on September 7th. Rooted in Indie Rock, itÆs an eclectic album with intricate and engaging details which show both instrumentally and vocally. LA R╔SISTANCE is the dreamy result of the current revival influencing the band..s music and is strongly inspired on the alternative and psychedelic Rock of the 60Æs and 70Æs.
