The four-split gatefold 2x 7" ep OSLO WE ROT has
been unleashed!
Execration - Obliteration - Lobotomized - Diskord
Let us hear what the abominations themselves got
to say about their offerings:
DISKORD:
"For this project we chose to re-record an old
tune from our second demo, 'Aural Abjection',
released 2003, with some minor adjustments. We
were quite pleased with the outcome of this demo,
of which three songs had already been re-recorded
for our debut album, 'Doomscapes'. As this demo is
unheard by most of the audioence (only about 150
copies were printed), we felt there was one more
song, 'Cease of Existence', that deserved to be
lifted from gloom, before the olddemo is put to
rest in the tombs of eternal obscurity. There was
also room for a short new ditty, we chose 'As the
Circus Leaves the Galaxy'. It will probably be
re-recorded in the near future, as we plan to
enter studio to record our second album, which
again will be entitled by a constructed word
starting with the letter D."
LOBOTOMIZED:
"LOBOTOMIZED are what we in Norway call a 'hµlvsi
utviklingshemma gjeng', mentally challenged
childre, semi-retarded dorks - and we are proud of
it! Our contribution to OSLO WE ROT focuses on the
human excrements: piss and shit. 'I Shit on your
Grave' is taken from the marvelous album SHITFUN,
an album released by a great influence of ours -
AUTOPSY. BERLEV┼G (Laserguys, Hellstorm, Prostata
Mag., Hommelvika, etc) offers his grunt services
on that one. We wantd to do a cover of THE MENTORS
as well, and what suits better than a song about
urine: 'Golden Showers' is a gripping and dripping
story about a man and a girl. If you merge the
inbred genes of AUTOPSY and THE MENTORS you'll get
the filthy trashy bastard LOBOTOMIZED and the
audio result 'Piss on my Grave'."
OBLITERATION:
"Hello folks! OBLITERATION's contribution for the
fantastic OSLO WE ROT 7inch is the track
Envenomed, or FLUEN TVENOM as we call it. It was a
'left over track' we've had with us since the
Perpetual Decay days. It was originally really
fast, very inspired by Terrorizer, Death Strike
and Repulsion, but somehow it didn't give us the
gizz, so we scraped it. Now, we suddenly needed a
track for the 7inch, so we had to think of
something fast, so we decided to use Envenomed.
But it was way to short to fill one side, so we
just slowed it RADICALY down and added a lead, and
suddenly it got a great Hellhammer vibe to it.
Total death, total coincidence. UH!"
EXECRATION:
"'Entheogen' is the first new Execration track
since their 2008 debut album 'Syndicate of
Lethargy'. It was recorded live, exclusively for
the 'Oslo We Rot' split single. 'Entheogen' has an
unmistakable Execration feel to it, yet marks
significant development since 'Syndicate of
Lethargy'. The track ranges from the eerily doomy
to the ferocious and blistering, giving listeners
an idea of what to expect from Execration's
upcoming 2010 album."
