Release Notes :

Hamburg's Extrawelt hooks up with the Ideal Audio label for
"NeverEverDiskoTricks", a three track EP of deep, moody techno - one that boasts
original melodies and enough musical changes to keep things interesting without
being overwrought. There are decent moments to be found on the lead track
"Confuzzled", but the remaining two tracks are less inspired.

On the A-side, "Confuzzled" is filled with straight beats and gothic sheen to
the complex atmospherics that give it depth. Chiming melodies and minor chorded
ambience relent to driving drum techno on the record's back half.

It's an interesting mix of sweet and sour that may catch dance floors by
surprise with a set of conflicting subliminal emotions. There is a pleasant air
of unease to this one that distinguishes it.

The EP's title track "NeverEverDiskoTricks" uses the same kind formula, starting
with elegant synth pads and tinkling pianos for a decent chill out vibe.

But from there it branches out into cosmic disco melodies and electro bass for a
retro touch that is a welcome change of pace from the dark techno spookiness
that Extrawelt flirts with all over this EP.

"Too Confuzzled" sticks with the electro motif and builds the whole track around
it sounding like an old Anthony Rother cut from ten years past with nice sci-fi
influence.

There are some great cowbell fills as well to allow punters to unleash their
dance floor Christopher Walken impressions, however this one is still just
b-side fare.
