Designed to coincide with his widely acclaimed 'Shlohmoshun' album,
San-Francisco's Shlohmo drops four fresh tracks backed with remixes from a
circle of friends including Asura, Shigeto and Baths. 'Naps' works out grainy,
digi-textured and heavily compressed hiphop with shades of Ras G, while
'Birthday Beat' spakles with effusive melodies to balance out the sweltering
bass burn and 'Sippy Cup' drifts into opiated, crackly samples and gauzy bass
bumps kinda like Debruit gone all psyched. For the remixes we'd go for the noisy
Asura mix with its half-speed swamp bass and scrunched, grungy surfaces.
