Eclipse 3:35 Release Notes: Mondkopf is a young Parisian electronic producer / remix artist whose name may already be familiar to many for his association with the hugely influential blog Fluokids. He released an EP on their Fool House label which has fast become a well-respected stamp of approval for cutting edge, new artists. He gained a cult following thanks to his thrilling remixes of Caribou, Golden Filter, Grand National, Pony Pony Run Run and even Johnny Cash. Each remix comes stamped with his unique sound and with a firm sense of identity emblazoned on itÆs sleeve for all to see. This May saw the UK release of his debut artist LP on Asphalt Duchess entitled æGalaxy of NowhereÆ and now he is back with a new EP æDeaf HouseÆ which demonstrates a darker, almost hostile side to his own brand of atmospheric electronica. Whereas Galaxy of Nowhere displayed an air of innocence, this EP is more of a following to æSainteÆ, the typically devastating and devious affair released by Fool House. Mondkopf has developed his own exciting sound by taking inspiration from musical visionaries such as Brian Eno and Vangelis, along with American Hip-Hop artists like Timbaland and J Dilla. Breaking away from other French dance acts, Mondkopf creates his own exciting instrumental blend of deep rhythms and soulful melodies. His crunchy beats and complex orchestrations have won him comparisons to the likes of Apparat, Modeselektor, Kevin Shields and early Orbital. He has won fans across European press and DJs such as James Zabiela who included æBones ClubÆ in his Essential Mix for Radio One and borrowed æLibera MeÆ for his Renaissance compilation. æDeaf HouseÆ embraces the rich tapestry of personal influences to reach a captivating level. This EP whisks us away to lands where Werewolves howl at the moon before embarking on a sci-fi adventure reminiscent of Blade Runner. The intricate sounds and brooding breaks take us deep into the underbelly of his imagination. Mondkopf is famed for delivering an astounding and intense live performance which he will be bringing over to the UK very soon. This NFO File was rendered by NFOmation.net
