Featuring the vocals of the pairs good friend, Kevin Knapp from San Francisco, Real Talk is a adrenaline shot of groove-infused funk from Matt Tolfrey & Christopher Sylvester. Their second release for the murmur label and one of their strongest yet, the two original productions are laden with extra depth and bags of energy. Real Talk features the original vocals of Kevin Knapp who explains, The term Real Talk is really just an affirmative stamp on all the commentary being offered in the song. It's sort of like keep it real used to be, before your co-worker in the office starting saying it. Close friend Ryan Crosson delivers an authentic remix of the original reworked into an eye rolling creation for late night and early morning moments. If you listen to the words in the Post Up mix, the vocal is basically telling you what Crosson's going to do on the track before he does it, explains Knapp, who wrote the vocal, always so surprising and makes you feel less alone in the world when other peeps have similar musical sensibilities. Reality completes the package, burning with a compelling drive shaped through sharp drum patterns and infused pads. Matt Tolfrey & Christopher Sylvester have many collaborations planned with Knapp, including on their forthcoming album. I have known Kev for a number of years now, explains Matt, We met at a Dirtybird party in San Francisco, and since then we have become good friends. He is a great DJ also, and is actually putting out some music on Leftroom in the summer, so he is definately one of the crew. Knapp elaborates on the relationship, He's like my older brother on this music hustle, and I definitely consider him a close friend. A couple of trips ago he was in SF and I let it slip that I used to be a vocalist. So that night I went out to one of our usual SF haunts, The End Up, and got into a conversation with Claude Von Stroke about it. We tossed a few ideas around right there in the club and I was inspired. Over the next week or so, I developed the idea and wahlah, a project was born. For me personally, this track was the beginning of a whole new start to music creation. I have not taken my pen off the pad since! remember to support artists. ·∙∙∙·[respect]∙··∙·∙∙·∙···∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙··∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙··∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙·· shoutouts to the groups that love the music they promote.. ·∙∙··[news]∙·∙∙ ∙∙··∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙··∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙··∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙···∙···∙ no news is good news :)~ ·∙∙··[dh]·∙·∙∙·∙···∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙··∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙··∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙·····∙··∙ If you're down with the deep house music, music with feeling.. music that makes you groove no matter where you are.. and you think you can add to this feeling.. then drop us a line d_h@inbox.lv keep the feeling real. .∙· d e e p h o u s e 2 0 1 0 ·∙. ·∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙···∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙··∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙··∙∙∙··∙∙··∙·∙∙·∙···∙···∙· This NFO File was rendered by NFOmation.net
