Release Notes:
--------
New 2010 CD from Sweden`s The Tangerines. Their last self-titled album from 2007
was one of that year`s very best. What I wrote then applies now. Lovely layers
of many instruments(most of them with ringing jangles stuck to them), snazzy and
totally ace melodies and lots of positive energy.

They have not messed with that formula that madeThe Tangerines so special -
which is a thankful thing because what is is, IS......Swedish power pop!! Three
words that are much cause of celebration here at Not Lame and when we use them
Not Lame is always relieved when the Swedish power pop band can live up to the
expectations of the great bands that have come before any new one. Well, The
Tangerines only add to the great legacy there. Fans of Ed James, The Lolas, The
Rubinoos and Cloud Eleven sound jump up `n down, drool and land on your feet and
run go get The Tangerines. Or, at the least, listen below and you can hear what
we`re talking about. Talk about jangle! What`s really cool here is that as
purely power pop as this is, it has a big `ole ground wire running through it
that is firmly rooted in the inspirations of The Byrds when Gene Clark was in
the band, too. 16 songs(plus 4 with the bonus EP) packed with rich melodies,
infectious hooks, sweet harmonies and jangly guitars. 2010 starts off with a
band with sure Top 10 or 20 album for the year and a pure celebration of the Not
Lame spirit! GRADE A - beginning to end.
