First released in 1999, Gestamstkunstwerk is the utterly essential compendium of
high concept, process heavy electro from mysterious double act Dopplereffekt.

2009 witnessed the very first face to face interview with the group, revealing
what most belived to be true; the prime mover in Science, Music and Technology
behind Dopplereffekt has always been Heinrich Muller aka Gerald Donald, one time
member of Detroit aqua-techno legends Drexciya. Operating from their secret base
in Germany, Donald recruited the services of Micheala To Nhan Le Thi to help him
in his quest to reduce techno to the starkest possible dynamic code.

Gestamstkunstwek then, marks the end of their first circuit splitting wave
before 2003's Linear Accelerator crashed into our conscience.

Collecting seventeen slabs of sharp, analogue 90s electro on the one platter;
prime evidence for Dopplkereffekt's mastery of funky ping pong tones, skittery
beats and harshly filtered synths can be seen in the brittle Cold War robo=funk
of 'Infophysix', 'Satellites' 'Denki No Zuno' to the auto-erotic sleaze of
'Pornoviewer' 'Pornoactress' 'Plastiphila' (with it's infamous hook "I want to
fuck a mannequin").

Gestamstkunstwerk would soon become the un-holy mecca for the fetishistic
synth-pop hipsters of New York's early noughties Electroclash scene
(Fischerspooner, Hacker, Miss Kittin et al), but whatever that movement birthed,
no record would triumph this superlative set of mindbending, chilling songs from
the future.
