- Release Info -------------------------------------------------------------- - Artist: The Scenic Album: Bipolaroid Label: Victory Records Playtime: 38:19 min Genre: Rock URL: http://www.victoryrecords.com/thescenic Rip date: 2010-09-23 Street date: 2010-09-28 Size: 60.22 MB Type: Normal Quality: 208 kbps / 4410kHz / Joint Stereo - Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- - "DonÆt you hate it when a band releases an album that you love, and then you hear that they are about to release a new album, and you get really excited to have some new music to jam to, and then you find out that the band decided to change their sound completely? I do. The ScenicÆs new album Bipolaroid has a pretty accurate title. ItÆs a complete 180 from the bandÆs Victory debut Find Yourself Here. While their first record was actually a lovely little album chocked full of catchy choruses, interesting lyrics, and well crafted melodies, the bandÆs newest effort doesnÆt really have much of anything going for it. The songs are pretty much all very bland and forgettable. The first single ôUh Ohö is one of the albumÆs only quality tracks, and even this song is skippable. It starts with a Weezer-esque guitar line, but ends up sounding more like Armor For Sleep than anything else as the song hits itÆs peak. ôMagicö sounds like a poor attempt at channeling Nirvana. IÆm not sure what the point behind this record was, but this direction makes no sense and even more, itÆs poorly executed. Maybe other people will find an interesting quality, where I find a lack of inspiration, however the horrendous lyrical content on a song like ôCharts and Graphsö, along with incredibly sophomoric melodies throughout songs like ôSunday Morningö and ôHolidayö make Bipolaroid incredibly difficult to listen to. DonÆt misunderstand me. I loved songs like ôBon Voyage Mr. Bonesö, ôArmageddonö and even a ballad like ôTake Your Timeö was incredibly interesting and enjoyable to listen to, but it seems like The Scenic lost the magic that made Find Yourself Here the album that it was. Bipolaroid does not live up in comparison, and even if you havenÆt heard their first album, the songs on Bipolaroid are just not very good." - Track List ---------------------------------------------------------------- - 01.
