| Jeremy Petrus was originally drafted in to |
| release a single EP on New York's Thema imprint, |
| but the deluge of material received by label boss |
| Leonard Posso meant that it only seemed right to |
| have Mossa release the first ever full-length on |
| the imprint. Petrus' debut album came out on |
| Paris' Circus Company label back in '06 and was |
| fully of jaunty jazz-infused microhouse, but next |
| year's offeringùentitled Festineùsees the |
| producer take a darker approach to his |
| minimalistic house style. |
| |
| He's also brought along a few of his good friends |
| from the scene along for the ride, with Dave Aju |
| contributing vocals to the cheeky stab-happy |
| house of "Cop a Feel," and Mike Shannon, Pezzner |
| and Mathias Kaden all helping out with production |
| on single tracks. Festine is likely to have a |
| much wider appeal than his debut album, with |
| opening track "Milou" set to win fans of dubstep |
| and future garage over with its heavily swung |
| minimalist beats, while those looking for more |
| ethnic vibes to fit into their sets should find |
| plenty to love in cuts like "Buleria" and "Java." |
